When The Politics Show took up the story of student Samantha Brown, who suffers from ME, the producer telephoned me for information and advice over the condition and how it affects students. After the preparatory work, I finally met up with Samantha and the BBC Team in London at the House of Commons. It had been arranged for the cameras to be admitted to a meeting of the All Party Parliamentary Group on ME, chaired by Des Turner MP. This made it a very special day for Sam, who had not been able to attend any of the Group's previous meetings. Sam and I were also filmed in discussion with reporter Max Cotton about the problems faced by young people with ME. This took place on the Victoria embankment in glorious sunshine, with the backdrop of the House of Lords, where the Trust's Founder Patron, Lord Clement-Jones, has hosted our events over the years. Altogether it was a rewarding, though totally exhausting day. We naturally hope it results in an excellent programme to raise awareness of ME in the young. Don't forget to set your recorders if you are going to be out on the day! The programme is scheduled to air straight after the Grand Prix.
