Tymes Trust Alert 2011-11 Message from Jane 24 December 2011 ====== Follow Jane on Twitter @JaneCColby or read her tweets at www.tymestrust.org ====== TYMES TIDINGS 2011 IS NOW AVAILABLE ONLINE Also: Vroom! Look what Mark's been doing! ====== Now you can send a link to Tymes Tidings to anyone around the world: http://www.tymestrust.org/pdfs/tymestidings2011.pdf Here's a summary of the contents: * New Special Educational Needs Green Paper: 'Support and Aspiration' * Hannah Titania: A true fairytale * Russell's Roundup: Members' news * Lady Elizabeth Anson (cousin to the Queen) and Seb! * Russian dancers children's colouring: Prizes waiting! If you get our publications by post, you will have received your printed copy of Tymes Tidings a while ago now. You would probably like to know that after our first meeting with the Dept for Education in the House of Lords, discussed in Tymes Tidings, we are to meet with them again in January to progress the matters discussed. At this holiday season, I am hoping that lots of our young members will be able to relax and colour in the beautiful sketch of children preforming Russian dance, which you'll find on the back page. It was drawn by my mother, who was an artist, teacher and lecturer, and I have kept it for many years since I was a head teacher myself and produced dance dramas for young people. Dr Elizabeth Dowsett always used to say how important it was to provide these activities in our magazines - something quiet and enjoyable to do in bed or on the sofa. It's fine if friends or family help the children who are too sick to manage on their own. Then there's Seb's poetry competition - the easiest ever, surely?! And I expect many of you will be wanting to send in pictures and poems for Hannah Titania. I know she is really looking forward to seeing them. VRROOM! LOOK WHAT MARK'S BEEN DOING So what has Mark being doing while Russell's stepped in to lay out booklets and posters for us in 2011? Seems to me it's been Mark's busiest year yet, working on motor racing engines and electronics. Here's an example. Enjoy this Autocar video. Another lap record? Well, what would you expect? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lPaawsU84HM I wish you an enjoyable Christmas in spite of all the hardship that illness can bring. I have many memories of coping with severe ME myself so I understand how hard it can be. Seasonal greetings from all of us.
