Tymes Trust Alert 2019-01 : YOUNG HEARTS DAY AND OTHER STORIES! Message from Jane 23 November 2019 ====== YOUNG HEARTS DAY AND OTHER STORIES! ====== Dear All First, a reminder that you're receiving this email because you subscribed to Tymes Trust Alerts via our website, and confirmed by clicking the link in the subsequent email you were sent. To unsubscribe, please send an email via the Contact Us form at www.tymestrust.org It's been a while since I wrote you an Alert, what with everything else going on, so I'm especially pleased to be doing it at this time of year when Young Hearts Day is only a week away! TYMES TRUST'S YOUNG HEARTS DAY 29TH NOVEMBER - FOR THE CHILDREN! We invite parents to request a little Young Hearts gift for their child for Young Hearts Day, which commemorates the launch by Terry Waite of our book Young Hearts, full of poetry by young people with ME. This is our special day to remember children with ME everywhere. Will you join with us in once again lighting a candle on the day? Post a photo of it on social media too if you can, to raise awareness. We shall post a photo of our candle on Twitter @tymestrust, @JaneCColby, and on Facebook www.facebook.com/tymestrust To request a Young Hearts gift, use the Contact Us form at www.tymestrust.org including details, or write in. There is no charge for this service. ADVICE LINE Our Advice Line Team Director notes that in October the most common topic on which our advice was sought is once again education. Lack of support for children with ME by schools, not authorising absence, and pressurising families over school attendance are key issues. ME in children commonly starts during the Autumn term. The late summer/early autumn pattern is an epidemiological feature of classic ME, but schools may believe that the child is suffering from stress from change of class or school, not a 'real' disease. We are happy to advise. STILL SOME CHRISTMAS CARDS LEFT! 6 large "Joy To The World" glossy cards for £3 - see Teddy's balloon flight! See them in the green box at www.tymestrust.org How did the cards come about? Late last year we were given a donation specifically for some Tymes Trust Christmas cards for sale and awareness raising. We have a number of these colourful cards left. Not many people know that the photograph was taken by our Chair of Trustees, and the cards were paid for, edited and ordered by a supporter and a kind parent. Supervised and approved at all stages by me! What fun. Wouldn't your best teacher like one? Just post a cheque made out to Tymes Trust to the address below, with your name and details, or make payment here https://www.tymestrust.org/donations.htm and send a Contact Us form https://www.tymestrust.org/contactus.htm with your name, details, and requirements. CHRISTMAS STICKERS We also have some of our jolly Tymes Trust Christmas stickers to put in your own cards or on the envelopes - robins, Christmas trees or Holy Family. Just make a donation at https://www.tymestrust.org/donations.htm and send a Contact Us form with your name, details and say how many stickers you'd like. There's a lot more news, such as the time I was received by the Queen earlier this year at Windsor Castle, but that will have to wait! WANT TO HELP? If you would like to offer a little of your time to help the Trust in various ways, please let me know. I will phone you personally to discuss, so don't forget to include your telephone number in your message. If you already volunteered but I haven't contacted you yet, remind me!
